Sculpture > Rover

A sculpture by David Davies and Bert Snow.

Inspired by the Mars Rover project, Rover was an interactive installation designed to raise awareness of the emerging coastal trails network in the towns of Amesbury, Salisbury, Newbury, and Newburyport, MA. It was the recipient of a 2004 NEFA Grant and National Park Service award. A two day event, participants set out to take digital photos along the existing trails, many of which were abandoned rail beds. Upon return to Rover their photos were immediately printed and posted on the four panels representing each town. In 2010 two of the trails were officially opened as paved bicycle and pedestrian paths.
